and remember that tina brooks no unhealthy meals at her table. and get those blue lights out of the closet. those lights were a war haul, but iraq my brains in vain to recall where they were taken from. yes, eating at home is the way to go. it certainly beats going to the middle east via central station. bob porter likes to go there, but he is square, and nothing he has the stones to say should be believed.
mccain's vp selection will palin comparison to other concerns. meanwhile, i am biden my time, waiting for this political nader to come to an end. perhaps a new era will flower shortly. till then, i will continue to smell the rosa's, and listen to my dad talk about clemente. i realize that last line was out of right field, but i figured i would throw it in, in the hopes you will have a ball reading it. sadly, i likely struck out, as you probably felt the statement was off base. well, you can't hit them all out of the park.
alot has been made of the fact that obama gave his acceptance speech 45 years to the day of the march on washington. i realize the march on washington was an important day, but what about the april on philadelphia? it seems no one remembers that equally powerful day, when medgar evers said that he had a day dream.
to think that there is any connection between king and obama, other than the fact that the work of king and others in the civil rights movement helped to create a society where individuals of color could rise in their fields if they were deemed acceptable by the power elite, is ludicrous. condolezza rice and colin powell have come pretty far in the realms of political and military power as well, and no one seems to link them to king. granted, obama is more progressive then them, but then again, you could say the same for a brick wall. obama is a mainstream politician, king was a progressive activist, and mainstream politicians and progressive activists have little to nothing in common. and by the way, i wonder how king would feel about obama's plan to put 10,000 more troops in afghanistan? would he not remind him that we need to defeat the evil triplet of racism, militarism, and economic exploitation? i, for one, wonder how we can defeat militarism by increasing the military budget, adding more troops to afghanistan, and threatening pakistan and iran? i have a hunch that king would wonder the same thing.
having said that, i acknowledge that obama could not have received this nomination before, and that this surely speaks to some improvements in the racial ideas of millions of americans. however, while that is a good thing, it doesn't mean that obama himself is good. i have always said that perhaps the main difference between the democrats and the republicans are the people who vote for them. the democratic voter tends to be rather progressive on a number of issues, including war, health care, and abortion, but the democratic candidates don't come close to giving voice to the ideas of the people that vote for them. the republican politician, on the other hand, is much closer to the average republican voter, (ie, racist, pro-war, christian fundamentalist) though of course, i am generalizing.
furthermore, it is my strong belief that obama has succeeded to the extent he has with middle of the road whites because he has convinced them that he "transcends race," while remaining black in the eyes of black voters. again, obama is not a black man in the sense that that word is usually understood. he was raised by a white woman, and his father was african. i have often heard white people say that africans are "different" than american born blacks, meaning that they "work harder" and "don't complain" about racism like american born blacks do. of course, it is true that immigrants work hard; they always have. i suppose one could argue that jews, italians, and other white immigrants worked harder than their wasp counterparts, and didn't complain as much as native whites about work conditions and other concerns. the thing is, the favoring of black immigrants by whites over american born blacks is in and of itself racism. again, obama does not come out of the black american experience, and it is this experience that white americans continue to do their best to deny and degrade.
an example; a few years back, my mom was at her sister's house. her sister had a friend and her husband over. it came up that my mom lives in boston. the man replied that he went to college there, "and that he loved it there because there are no blacks." my mom was stunned, but decided to keep quiet because just a few hours before she had started a fight with another friend of her sister's by defending the palestinians in their conflict with israel. my aunt and uncle said nothing. now, fast forward to the obama campaign. both my aunt and uncle are obama supporters. they had a friend over who began to attack obama. my uncle called the person a racist! somehow, they thought an attack against one man to be racist, but not so the remark about a town being good because it lacks blacks (ie, american, city blacks) by the way, i cordially invite this man to take a walk with me through roxbury, dorchester, and mattapan to better allow him to judge the number of blacks in boston.
so, to some extent (we shall see if it's enough) obama has been able to cross over and appeal to millions of whites, as oprah, tiger woods, michael jordan, and for that matter, rice and powell, have already done. again, i don't think this to be of no import, but let us not fool ourselves. obama has been at pains throughout this campaign to show that he is not "too black." he refused to condemn the police murder of sean bell, i have not heard him utter a word about justice for katrina victims, he supports the death penalty, he has said not a word about police brutality, and to top it off, he has said many a racist remark about blacks, telling them to stop acting like "boys," to stop throwing trash out of their car windows, and to stop feeding their children cold popeyes chicken for breakfast. in short, he has said nothing that would mark him as a "black" candidate, and it is to the extent that he has done this that he has succeeded. it reminds me of the lenny line, "he's a refomed rabbi, so reformed that he's ashamed he is jewish."
man, i just wrote a lot of shit, when i suppose all i had to write was...
bullshit as usual.

my fears
i would like to think that america's foreign policy would be different under obama, but it won't be much different. in fact, when asked, obama said he would practice the "oh, bomb a country" foreign policy. so, there you have it; obama country will still be oh bomb a country.
some have asked if obama can win the race. i remind you that he is half kenyan. so, if the race becomes a marathon, there is no doubt in my mind that he will win.
just picked up an eric kloss cd. kloss was a blind alto player that came up in the late 60's. i am thinking of giving the disc as a christmas gift. that way, i can say it came from santa kloss.
michelle my belle obama supposedly gave a "great speech" last night. this was also supposedly a "great day" for america. as the homeless and sick go about their lives, no matter who speaks at what convention.
i couldn't find stone hotel in my library system. however, they did have brick inn.
but, since the library that had it was in a hostel environment, i decided not to get it.
something you will never hear or say..."taxi, follow that ass!"
something else you will never hear or say..."sir, if you don't remove your penis from my anus, i will have no recourse but to inform the authorities of the situation."
one more..."sorry to cut this conversation short, but i was due to kill someone 15 minutes ago."
cable has something called "on demand." my question is, who is demanding it? not me. the shows stink!
do you think there is anyone out there who will be abel to raise mccain's intelligence? perhaps if they have him eat from the tree of knowledge. once, on a sonny day, i planted a seed and it grew into tree rollins. but then, in the autumn, some hawks ate the leaves.
alan, get the dawson.
who was it?
ah, just some guy looking to drum up support for organ donations.
well, next time he comes around, see if he wants a shirley scott record.

went to the redd forrests with sonny and jimmy
and then we rode the night train home. the week before, i had walked through a garland of kelly green flowers, and acting like a dick, i pulled out my johnson. by george, i pissed in a bush! if i had been cot, i could have been thrown in a barrack. the whole thing could have sparked a miele. stan getz why i pulled out my byrd, but donald ducked the issue, saying it was a mickey mouse topic that wasn't worthy of his attention. he then told me to stop acting like a goofy, daffy fool from pluto and to get with the program. i told him i didn't have the program, as i hadn't gone to the show. he said that was still no excuse for me to have an episode. well, we see the world in different ways. i want my life to imitate art; he would like to be a simple farmer. but, the thing is, i don't think i should have to taylor the tenor of my behavior just to zoot suit him. it's not worth a riot, for crying out loud. ah, if i only had a bigger rod, perhaps i could be king. as the line goes "can't we all just get a long penis?"
they tell me that tom jones is from whales, but he sure looks like a human being to me. by the way, when is a guy from wales gonna play for the miami dolphins? yeah, i know i'm fishing for puns, but if you had to write your own blog, you would sing a different tuna.
i like the erick lyle book. before him, the only lyle i knew was ron lyle, a heavyweight from the 70's who gave foreman and ali great fights, but lost both. pinko, if you want to see a great boxing match, check out foreman-lyle. but then again, why would you want to check out a boxing match?
there is an old soul tune called "my love is growing tall." is it just me, or does that sound like "my dick is getting hard?" perhaps they didn't think they could crack the charts with that title. well, at least rap has come along and given us a more honest approach to song titles.
since the producers of "the day james brown saved boston" had so much success, they have come out with a new movie. it's called "the day patti labelle ruined philadelphia."
hope does last, huh? i have found that it's the first thing that goes!
you know you're all done when you agree to do "dancing with the stars." toni braxton and brooke burke? come on! by the way, since dancing with the stars has done so well, i think it's time for some spin offs. how about "lindy hopping with the solar system, and "twisting with the planets?" and why just dancing with stars? how about "singing with the unknown," or "painting with the unrecognized?" yes, there is a lot we can come up with if we just care enough.
who knows, we may even end war and feed the hungry.
actually, i know.
we won't.

just read a book
it's the i.f. stone classic, "stone butch blues." somehow, you knew to post that picture. amazing. nancy drew the cover, and a fein picture it was. man, it must be a drag being leslie feinberg, cause she sure ain't no beauty queen. martha, if you will allow me, i would like to get to the root of this problem. i realize the odds are staxed against us, but if we just knock on nick wood, i think everything will turn out okay. for i am hungry for solutions after talking to bill quiche, likely a government agent, according to battle of algiers hawkins. i told him that was cole, man, but he stood by the comment. in fact, it is impossible to stand by a comment, as a comment comes out of your mouth and has no physical shape. well, all i know is if patrick didn't put on ayers, we could have had the revolution by now. if only he would have listened to steve, who told him to drop the kirshbaum, perhaps things would be better now. instead, he decided to buy a kiss album and hugus. eventually, he moved to virginia with sue, but not before reading a paper handed out by harry. the paper was free, only 50 cents, and had the bobby seale of apporoval from stalin himself, who warned the editors to quit stalin for time and get the next issue out, which he felt was needed mao more than ever. he then broke into song, insisting that you could "lenin on me, when you're not strong." the song was a big hitler, reaching number 6 on the pop charts, but was only number 43 on the mom charts. it was 23 on the r and b charts, but just 57 on the j and b charts. perhaps it was the scotch beat that didn't appeal to certain audiences, or maybe it was too regal. in any case, my favorite song was "nowhere to rum, nowhere to hide," by martha root and the vandellas. by the way, just what is a vandella? is it related to a busdella? and, did they ever record with van-della reese? don't you know? in fact, reese did sing with the group once at the kit kat club, but complained that she was only making peanuts, and decided to leave the group. meanwhile, in the next room, i hear the cosby show, as i struggle to keep my food down. luckily, i haven't eaten. for the moment, i am on a controlled fast, which is similar to an out of control slow. i was gonna go on a fast, but i wasn't quick enough. getting back to dick tator, let us stop beating around the bush. yes, you may be a vegan, but a little kerry chicken now and then won't kill anybody, except the chickens. i can see you now, visualizing the gore, but if you had been biden your time, maybe the thoughts would not have come to you. for not all inconvenient truths need to be thought of. if you think of these things without a stop, you may end up like darth nader, the root, martha, of all evil. yes, i maybe raven, but it is time to swing open that screen door that has kept us locked up for too long. robin, get out of that birdcage while there is still time. i know things may seem out of focus now, but woody, if we make our move now, we must just survive in the nick of time. we have everything to gaynor, and nothing to lose, and if we succeed, the gloria will be ours and ours alone. so, before the summer ends, let us donna new approach, and begin to live again. put on that disco, and let the music play.
man, looking at that picture makes me want to sing the stone butch blues
but sadly, i don't have the stones to sing it.
i hope all the liberals who are pissed by the selection of biden will say bye then to obama. biden is the same dude who said previously that he didn't think obama was ready to be president, and that he would be honored to run with mccain! how much more proof do we need that it's all one big bullshit deal? speaking of flip flopping dems, don't be surprised if mccain picks former dem, and 2000 vp candidate, leiberman as his running mate. then we could all hold hands around the campfire and sing "let's hear it for the black, the jew, and two senile white motherfuckers." america; the only country that could turn diversity into a bad word.
going from bad to worse, the same prick who wrote that swift boat book about kerry, has written a new book called obama-nation. it has all the right wing smears and white supremacist cracks you could think of and more. in short, it is filled with just the right amount of nonsense and hate that will likely appeal to millions of white americans, and may even help to swing the election in mccain's favor. obama should be exposing this for the crap it is, but if he did this, he would be forced to come off as a progressive, the very thing he doesn't want to do.
speaking of this book, just who published it? who backed it, and why is it the first book i see on display every time i walk into a mainstream bookstore? where is that liberal media when you need it? if you smear a democrat from the far right, your book will be backed, it will be displayed in the bookstores, you will be interviewed on tv, and will be read by millions. but if you critique a democrat from the left, as cockburn did in 2000, and street will do to obama, your book will be ignored, it won't be backed, the bookstores may not even carry it, and you won't be interviewed on tv. i can't think of anything that displays, more than this, how fucked we are as political beings.
well, since you attend leslie, you may say that's fine, berg, but i find that to be a queer response. well, i guess we will cross that cambridge when we get to it. ah boston, the home to harvard and mit. pinko, i didn't have the heart to tell that moron in old sacramento that those schools are really in cambridge. hey, who am i to fuck with his one beantown line that he probably only gets to use once every 5 years? the only mit we have had in boston recently was mitt romney. judging by his name, he took the t, and hopefully he took it a long ways from boston. mitt has been replaced by st. deval patrick, a black irishman, who has fond memories of the march 17 on washington. so far, patrick has stood pat, though i would prefer to be governed by his father pat patrick. believe me, i wouldn't let the sunra catch me crying. in fact, i feel a ray of sunshine everytime i hear charles sing don't let the sun catch you crying.
iran is not the problem. iwalked is.
yeah man, let's make up countries to bomb. that way, no one will get hurt, and the people won't know the difference, because they don't know where anything is anyway.
best idea i've had in minutes.
almost as good an idea as ending this blog.

biden his time
joe was biden his time, but now his patience has paid off. it seems that obama's first choice, bobby seale, was not available. biden, i remind you, was a stauch supporter of the very same war in iraq that obama claims to oppose. however, he is an older white man. well, i suppose that more than qualifies him. biden, we will hear, was a good choice because he is an "insider," as if being inside the murderous apparatus is actually a good thing. choosing biden is kind of like jfk picking johnson, or the duke picking bentsen, which to my mind, was way off basie. but when jfk picked johnson, he picked a veteran southerner, which seems to me to make more sense than picking a veteran northerner, when a democrat can expect to cop most of the north, regardless of who the vp is. this choice is in line with the whole safe thing that obama is into. my guess is that his run will be so safe that the danger of mccain is virtually assured.
joe henderson with wynton kelly was some pretty wild shit, considering the middle of the road nature of the material. man, joe could go crazy with the best of them, and still play the tune. what a monster. his version of stardust is insane!
pinko, a new film called "trouble the water" is coming out soon, and will play in both sac and beantown. it's about this couple that got a video camera shortly before katrina, and they didn't have the bread to split, so they ended up filming the hurricane and the aftermath. the producers of the movie have produced michael moore in the past, so i'm sure that has helped get it into more theaters than most of these kinds of movies. here, it's playing at the kendall, and i'm sure, your equivalent to that. check out the website man. also, on a humorous note, ricky gervais finally stars in a movie of his own. i saw a trailer for it, and it seemed pretty funny. hopefully, he and his buddy had a hand in the writing, if so, it should be good. that will play in the mainstream joints.
if only miles had played "moonlight in vermont," maybe more cats would play it. now that's a tune.
frida mentioned the diets of hayes and mac as a possible factor in their deaths. let us pursue this further. bernie mac's name in and of itself is pretty damning, don't you think? not a very healthy name. if only his name had been bernie salad, perhaps he would still be here. furthermore, even the word diet isn't very healthy when you think of it. the word diet has the word die in it! in fact, die is 3/4th's of the word diet. when you think of it, it's amazing they lasted as long as they did.
afghanistan claims we killed 76 civilians yesterday. they had pictures of the dead and injured to back up their claim. the u.s. military claims they killed 30 taliban, and is supposedly unaware of civilian casualities, though they claim to be looking into it. i's just a hunch, but i trust the afghans on this one.
and by the way, why are we justified in killing something we call "the taliban?" what have they done to us? we have no right to kill anyone in afghanistan, or anywhere else for that matter, civilian or not. iraqi and afghani soldiers and/or rebels are no more deserving of death than anybody else. they are in their own country. we are the invaders. what would we think if russia came over here and bombed an american army base and justified it because they were soldiers and not civilians? i'm sure most of us (i don't think i'd be too pissed) would not like it at all. of course, they would have no right to do that, just as "we" have no right to do it in iraq or afghanistan. we are the invading army, and are therefore fair game, as far as i'm concerned.
viva el insurgency!
where is joe chambers when you need him? i don't know about you, but i'm not expecting russell malone to write "blues for saddam" anytime soon.

it's a tough call, but i would rather be on the j lo than the down low
when people are on the down low, just how low are they? and why is it that people are on the down low, but no one is on the up high? "yo, don't tell nobody, but my boy is on the up high." and what if you are "middle of the road?" "man, i can't believe that middle of the road motherfucker got high all the time, and was on the down low to boot!" did you ever notice you can be something "to boot" but never "to shoe" or "to sneaker?" "man, that guy could sing, dance, and act to sneaker."
something you will never hear a guy say..."i would rather lick her than drink liquor."
me, my brother, and my dad were tossing around ideas on how to get out of jury duty, when my dad said "just tell them you don't believe in trial by jury. rather you believe in trial by fire." i'm thinking of telling them that we should bring the inquisition back, but i'm afraid that i'll get picked if i say that.
vivica fox has been given a tv show. i assume the budget is about eight bucks.
mccain is now leading obama by 5 points. but, have no fear; with a couple of three point shots, obama will be right back in the lead.
where the fuck did some of these librarians come from? and these are the people who read!
something that you'll never say on a job interview when you are asked what you consider your strengths to be..."well, i really enjoy helping people masterbate."
sonny rollins once described his politics as "anti-industrial." i'm just starting to dig what a heavy response that was. the problem is, the anti-industrial party has not caught on with a lot of people. so remember, a vote for the anti-industrial party is a vote for mccain.
mccain, when asked, couldn't say how many houses he owned. this in a country where millions of people don't even have a place to live. this in a country where a man like this can become president. as don king used to say, "only in america."
the right wing should be called the wrong wing. and what about the term "conservative." just what is it that these guys are trying to "conserve?" certainly not the water or the air or our health. no, they have no interest in conserving anything, only in using and abusing this earth and all the wealth and resources they can find within it. and don't even get me started on the liberals. as alinsky said, "the difference between a liberal and a conservative is that a conservative laughs after he stabs you in the back, and the liberal cries." either way, my friend, you are dead.
just found out that cho now has her own show; the cho show. well, i guess she saw bogosian on law and order and got jealous. maybe it's better that lenny was persecuted; at least he couldn't be on any shit tv shows, for it's hard to sell out when you are being destroyed by the system. let's hear it for persecution.
coleman hawkins is playing a beautiful version of the ballad "i want to be loved," which will soon be ruined by a melodramatic ending by red garland. by the way, this song was originally called "i want to be fucked," but they couldn't get it by the censors.
in this country, we may not want to be fucked, but you can be sure that we all will be.
but, for far too many of us, it will be in the wrong way.

thank you
for locating a picture of the one chinese man in spain. sadly, it was his idea to run the add.
heard a good tenor man by the name of wayne taller. i'd burn you one of his discs, but i can't reach it.
the joe henderson station logically went to shorter next, but then it played a tune by kenny door ham. i know he was the uncrowned king, our trumpeter, but still.
a headline in the local paper today was "russia; leave georgia or face the consequences." i am so proud to live in a country where the media is free to criticize the actions of other nations. kind of chokes you up, doesn't it?
it was cool hearing about the caspian sea again though, wasn't it? yeah, it's an old standard, "somewhere beyond the caspian sea." yes, that does go back to the grand old days of bill clit-tin. basically they want to cop the resources of the region without having to deal with russia at all. crazy.
passion dance was a bitch. in fact, it was the real mccoy, and it was not played by an ordinary joe. in fact ron, i have a jones to play it right now, but perhaps it is off bass to drum up support for an album in the middle of a blog.
i like mickey z. y? because he is a g straight out of generation x, and he speaks to john q public.
i hope to live to see the day when the phrase "milosevic lives" becomes known to all. once, i was going to paint his portrait, but he went on a tie rant and missed the shoot, hence the classic book "portrait of a tie rant." now that i think of it, i can't remember if milosevic was a left wing populist or a bourgeouis nationalist.
when in doubt, you can always play blue bossa.
in a poll of what americans fear the most, public speaking came in first. death was second.
third? reading the rantings of mellish on an empty stomach.
some wars you don't hear much about, but that have been going on for a while...
the war on water
the war on air
the war on sanity
the war on peace
the war on food
my solution? let's pull our troops out of iraq, and let's invade high fructose corn syrup.
in conclusion, i would like to bring up a rather interesting point that i believe calls for further investigation. bernic mac and isaac hayes, both recently deceased, starred in a movie together that will come out in november. ok, that's weird enough, but dig the title....
soul men.
they sure are. now, somebody knew something we didn't. i, for one, call for an immediate investigation into the director, the producer, the camera men, the extras, and every other bum involved with production. to me, if two men die shortly after making a movie called soul men, then none of us are safe.
none of us.

in conclusion, i would like to bring up a rather interesting point that i believe calls for further investigation. bernic mac and isaac hayes, both recently deceased, starred in a movie together that will come out in november. ok, that's weird enough, but dig the title....
soul men.
they sure are. now, somebody knew something we didn't. i, for one, call for an immediate investigation into the director, the producer, the camera men, the extras, and every other bum involved with production. to me, if two men die shortly after making a movie called soul men, then none of us are safe.
none of us.

the rain in spain
falls mainly on the brains of their spanish basketball teams, turning their collective minds to mush. let's start with pau gasol. why is there no l at the end of his name? this guy deserves to get decked. in fact, as gleason would say, "pau, right in the kisser!" then there is his brother marc. how off the marc could this asshole be? the asshole gasol, the both of them. the pink one tells me the picture has been defended in spain because there are "no chinese there." i can see why! but seriously, what kind of a defense is this? there are few indigenous people here in the states, but that doesn't mean i want to see some white guy beating on a drum and putting his hand to his mouth. so, something is only offensive if there are a number of people around that are in the group being offended? as a white guy, this has always bothered me; it's like we are all on the same team, and therefore, there is no way that any white person could possibly be offended by racist acts directed against non-whites. forget about whether there are chinese in spain or not; every spanish dude should be pissed off by it. the fact that they aren't speaks to the profound power of white supremacy in this so called multicultural age.
john mccain, on the russian invasion of georgia..."this is the 21st century. nations don't invade other nations."
if we take the figures of 2000 killed in georgia by russia, and a million killed in iraq by the us (since 03, that is) the u.s. has killed 500 times more people in iraq than russia has in georgia. maybe someone in the media can report this to bush the next time he gets high and mighty about "georgia's sovereignty." i won't hold my breath waiting for this however.
mingus's jazz composers workshop is damn good, though i miss thad and cello. it does have that intelligent, searching, chamber quality of jazzical. i think it will be dug. all in due time, my man.
back to the spanish team. where is david stern during all of this? isn't pau gasol still an employee of the nba? if i went around at my gig and did that with my eyes, wouldn't i be disciplined or fired? i would certainly hope so, although i'm sure some white dude would be there to say "he was only joking. hey, i know the guy, and he's a good person. this has all been taken out of context." man, i hope a guy like that never has to defend me! but yeah, where is the stern one? i have to think that if ron artest, or allen iverson, or rasheed wallace pulled something like this, we would have a condemnation from the league office. i guess the point is, if you are white, you can do whatever you want, but if you are non-white, you have to be on your best behavior. which, now that i think of it, is how it is!
it occurs to me that the average american is more concerned about his or her weight than starvation and war. other things they are more concerned about...
body odor
balding
erectile dysfunction (really flows off the tongue, huh? well, not while it's dysfunctional!)
bank account
breast size

i could go on, but why?

new post, old times
guess who has the most troops in iraq, after the u.s. and britain? georgia! yeah, now it's coming into focus.
the front page of the local paper today showed a picture of a little boy from georgia, crying. funny, but i don't remember seeing one iraqi child crying on the front page of the paper, or on any page of the paper, for that matter, in the 6 and a half years that we have been destroying that country. this child from georgia, by the way, looked well fed and was wearing nice clothes. i don't mean to belittle his suffering, but come on. this nation blindly bombs whoever it wants, and then pretends to be outraged by the foreign policies of other nations? it's disgusting. and the media is right there with them. i haven't heard one word which brings this hypocrisy up, outside of alternative outlets.
ran into a guy that i took a grad class with, and who also taught at brookline high. he recently got a degree in education "leadership" at harvard. all the dude did was talk, something about equity and working with the inner city schools and networking. seemed into it. fuck him.
maybe in 500 years, if the species is still around, we will finally catch up with eric dolphy.
if mccain is cancer, obama is a heart attack. i would prefer a heart attack, but i wouldn't choose it.
obama; gateway to the nightmare.
straight life was not a gay read. that line may not have been high art, although art was usually high, but i like to pepper my readers with puns.
education leadership? you want to teach the young? ask them why the media shows them a picture of a crying kid in georgia and not a bombed school in iraq. ask them why 30,000 children starving every day is not news. we learn by questioning, by digging deeper than we are supposed to. we don't learn from half assed partnerships that are supposedly in place to "close the achievement gap." the question is, what are we achieving? achievement, in and of itself, is neither good or bad. europeans achieved taking over the americas from the indigenous populations. that doesn't make it right. closing the achievement gap sounds a little like "making non-whites as bad as the whites," doesn't it? kind of like gays and women in the military and blacks on the police force. again, what is it that we are trying to achieve. let's say you have a game where the object of the game is to beat the other guy senseless. should you try your best to win the game, or walk away from it due to its senseless and violent nature? sadly, you can not get a master's in "walking away." but that doesn't make it the wrong choice.
dolphin dance just came on pandora. maiden voyage. well, it beats made in china.
speaking of china, what about the spanish basketball players putting their fingers to their eyes in order to "look chinese." awful. i suppose it isn't too surprising. somewhere, columbus and his crew from 1492 are happy. but yeah, terrible. these european countries aren't so hot when it comes to race either. the average american may be a prick, but he is certainly not alone. pau gasol claimed it was all in fun. well listen, paul asshole, fuck you!
was that in good fun?
well, at least i enjoyed it.

thoughts
when you tell your doctor that you want to change your mind, aren't you really saying that you would like to have brain surgery?
idea for a story about a tough birth. title? born under a bad thigh.
watched mickey z on youtube. z is the man. although he did break the all time record for quotes given in one talk, previously held by john q.
russia has decided to pull out of georgia. unfortunately, they have no plans to bomb the hell out of alabama.
the local free rag said that the "russian bear is stirring in georgia." is the american bear stirring in iraq? i can't bear the hypocrisy any longer!
listening to sonny rollins from the 70's. sadly, he sounds like watered down trane. sonny, you had such a unique voice, why did you stop using it? ah, maybe it was just a bad day. i know pinko saw him in the 90's, and dug him. whatever the case, it's great that he is still on the earth, even if he hasn't matched the prestige days of the mid 50's.
my cherie amour? sorry, stevie, but could you have come up with a more corny title?
i heard they are gonna make a porn movie in the wetlands, featuring the music of jimmy forrest. if i wasn't swamped for time, i would give you more details.
coltrane's prestige recording of lush life...man.
pandora is great, but the music on potdora is even better, never mind the drugs.
manny ramirez is hitting close to 500 since leaving boston. well, at least one of us was lucky enough to get out of this town.
we always hear about organized religion, but what about unorganized religion? yeah, they can't decide on when to hold the service. their unorganized man, can't decide on a damn thing, but their out there. and what if you don't want to be organized? maybe you want to be pianoized? yeah man, organ is too heavy anyway, and most organists don't know chords, according to gene ammons, and who am i to argue with gene?
lately, i have been saying that i have a lot of free time, but isn't all time free? it ain't like someone is gonna come up to you and say "that will be 10 bucks for the next half hour." unless, of course, he works in a parking lot. the thing is, we have made time cost money; we did that. "he makes 10 bucks an hour," "that apartment will be a 1000 a month." bullshit, time is free man. we put a price tag on it. we made the whole fucking thing up. aren't we wonderful? in our wisdom, we have reduced the world to little pieces of paper with pictures of dead white murderers looking back at us. man, are we fucked.
and we are heading into virgin territory.
and it's too late for protection.
my friends, a rough ride awaits. so, e, jack, and u, get on that trojan horse, before it's too late.

god talk
sometimes you will hear someone say about a guy "they need to find god." doesn't this seem like a difficult task? i, for one, have no fucking idea where the cat is. it ain't like he's in the white pages. and what are you gonna do after you find him? you could say, "hey man, where the fuck have you been? you've missed 46 wars, 57 famines, and 87 earthquakes, among other disasters." but, he probably wouldn't dig this.
other times someone will say about someone "they have to get right with god." well, this certainly makes more sense than getting wrong with god. but, you know, i don't want to get right with god. no, i prefer being down here, thank you. let's not speed up my time on earth. and, who am i to tell someone to "get right with god?" how do i know they aren't already right with him? the statement supposes some kind of greatness from the one making the point, but usually, this kind of remark is not made by people that are revolutionizing the world. furthermore, i would rather be left with god than right with him. being left with him sounds like it make take a little longer.
other people will tell you to "put your life in the hands of the lord." well, after finding out where the hands of hundreds of our catholic priests have been, i'm not so sure about this one.
at times, someone will tell us that it is "god's will." well, i thought god was eternal. if he is eternal, why does he need a will? what's he gonna do, leave his record collection to paul? hey god, if you don't mind, i'll take the original copy of eastern sounds.
at other times, people cop out and say "god works in mysterious ways." this is another way of saying "yeah, shit is fucked up big time, but since god is behind everything, let's give him the benefit of the doubt." yeah, slavery, destruction of native populations, the holocaust, genocide in guatemala...quite mysterious.
tied in with this is the "divine plan." just where does the holocaust fit into the divine plan?
and what of the athletes who "just want to thank the lord for giving them the strength to ....." if that is the case, then why bother with practice? why do athletes work out and lift weights if it is really the lord that is giving them the strength? if this is so, why do teams have strength and conditioning coaches? and, why do they go to the doctor when they get injured? shouldn't the lord just give them the strength again, and heal them?
at other times, "god is watching over us." what is he, a peeping tom? hey man, i don't want nobody watching over me. not the government, and not god either. if he wants to watch over somebody, let him start with the 3 billion people on this planet who survive on less than 2 dollars a day. many, of whom, are "right with god," but still don't seem to be able to find much in the way of food and shelter.
ok, enough about Him. bush recently said that russia is using "disproportionate force" against georgia. so far, they have killed about 2,000 people there. we have killed around a million in iraq. america; where the hypocrisy never ends.
isaac hayes, dead at 65. god, why did you have to give him the shaft?
why couldn't it have been cosby instead?

malcolm's musings
"what do you think is responsible for race prejudice in the u.s.?
ignorance and greed. and a skillfully designed program of miseducation that goes right along with the american system of exploitation and oppression. if the entire american population were properly educated - by properly educated, i mean given a true picture of the history and contributions of the black man, i think many whites would be less racist in their thinking. they would have more respect for the black man as a human being. knowing what the black man's contribution to science and civilization have been in the past, the white man's feelings of superiority would at least be partially negated. also, the feelings of inferiority that the black man has would be replaced by a balanced knowledge of himself. he'd feel more like a human being. he'd function more like a human being, in a society of human beings.
so it takes education to eliminate it. and just because you have colleges and universities, doesn't mean you have education. the colleges and universities in the american educational system are skillfully used to miseducate."
"i believe in recognizing every human being as a human being - neither white, black, brown, or red; and when you are dealing with humanity as a family, there's no question of integration or intermarriage. it's just one human being marrying another human being, or one human being living around and with another human being."
"i believe in a society in which people can live like human beings on the basis of equality."
"it's easy to become a satellite today without even being aware of it. this country can seduce god. yes, it has that seductive power, the power of dollarism. you can cuss out colonialism, imperialism, and all other kinds of isms, but it's hard for you to cuss that dollarism. when they drop those dollars on you, your soul goes."
"it is impossible for capitalism to survive, primarily because the system of capitalism needs some blood to suck. capitalism used to be like an eagle, but now it's more like a vulture. it used to be strong enough to go and suck anybody's blood whether they were strong or not. but, now it has become more cowardly, like the vulture, and it can only suck the blood of the helpless. as the nations of the world free themselves, then capitalism has less victims, less to suck, and it becomes weaker and weaker. it's only a matter of time in my opinion before it will collapse completely."
"it isn't a president who can help or hurt; it is the system. and this system is not only ruling us in america, it is ruling the world. nowadays, when a man is running for president of the united states, he is not running for the president of the united states alone; he has to be acceptable to other areas of the world where american influence rules. if johnson had been running all by himself, he would not have been acceptable to anyone. the only thing that made him acceptable to the world was that the shrewd capitalists, the shrewd imperialists, knew that the only way the people would turn toward the fox would be if you showed them a wolf. so, they created a ghastly alternative. and it had the whole world, including people who call themselves marxists, hoping that johnson would beat goldwater.
i have to say this; those who claim to be enemies of the system were on their hands and knees waiting for johnson to get elected, because he is supposed to be a man of peace. and at that moment he had troops invading the congo and south vietnam! he even has troops in areas where other imperialists have already withdrawn. peace corps to nigeria, mercernaries to the congo!"
"we shouldn't take sides either way with any of these parties. in my opinion, we should reserve our political action for the situation at hand, in no way identifying with either party or selling ourselves to either party, but taking political action that's for the good of human beings and that will eliminate these injustices. i, for one, do not think that the present man who's in the white house is morally capable of taking the kind of action necessary to eliminate these things."
"i haven't changed. i just see things on a broader scale. we nationalists used to think we were militant. we were just dogmatic. it didn't bring us anything. now i know it's smarter to say you are going to shoot a man for what he is doing to you than because he is white. if you attack him because he is white, you give him no out. he can't stop being white. we've got to give the man a chance. he probably won't take it, the snake. but we've got to give him the chance.
we've got to be more flexible. why, when some of our friends in africa didn't know how to do things, they went ahead and called in some german technicians. and they had blue eyes.
i'm not going to be in anybody's straightjacket. i don't care what a person looks like or where they come from. my mind is wide open to anybody who will help get the ape off our backs."
"i believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those who do the oppressing. i believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice, and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the system of exploitation. i believe that there will be that kind of clash, but i don't think it will be based on the color of the skin, as elijah muhammad had taught it. however, i do think you'll find that the european powers, which are the former colonial powers, if they're not able to readjust their thinking of superiority toward the darker skinned people, who they have been made to think are inferior, then the lines can easily be drawn - they can easily be lumped into racial groups and it will be a racial war."
two minutes on vietnam; address myself to vietnam for two minutes? it's a shame - that's one second. it is, it's a shame. you put the government on the spot when you even mention vietnam. they feel embarrased, you notice that? they wish they would not even have to read the papers about south vietnam, and you can't blame them. it's just a trap they let themselves get into.
but they're trapped, they can't get out. you notice i said "they." they are trapped, they can't get out. if they pour more men in, they'll get deeper. if they pull the men out, it's a defeat. and they should have known it in the first place.
france had about 200,000 frenchmen over there, and the most highly mechanized modern army sitting on this earth. and those little rice farmers ate them up, and their tanks, and everything else. yes, they did, and france was deeply entrenched, had been there a hundred or more years. now, if she couldn't stay there and was entrenched, why, you are out of your mind if you think sam can get in over there.
but we're not supposed to say that. if we say that, we're anti-american, or we're seditious, or we're subversive, or we're advocating something that's not intelligent.
so, that's two minutes, sir."
"if the united states justifies its entry into the congo with its military forces simply because the head of state asks them, then castro, who is the legal head of state in cuba, was well within his rights to ask russia to put missiles in cuba. it's the same argument - if one is sovereign, both are sovereign.
but they don't use law - they use law for their interests. they don't go by law, international, federal, local - nothing! they go by whatever is expedient to prtoect the interests that are at stake."

dirty lenny, the pornographer
"what's wrong with appealing to the prurient interest? we appeal to the killing interest. i really want the supreme court to stand up and tell me that fucking is dirty and no good."
"i would rather my child see a stag film than the ten commandments or king of kings-because i don't want my kids to learn to kill christ when he comes back. that's what they see in those films - that violence."
"first convict: i'm a strung out junkie. i started out smoking pot, that's the way i started. by the way cellmate, how did you get to be a murderer of eighteen people and the horrible gambler that you are?
second convict: i started gambling with bingo in the catholic church.
first convict: i see."
"goddamn the priests and the rabbis. goddamn the popes and all their hypocrisy. goddamn israel and its bond drives. what influence did they exert to save the lives of the rosenbergs, guilty or not? the ten commandments doesn't say "thou shalt not kill sometimes."
"would you sell out your country? who comes first, you or your country? i don't have to think twice; i know me jim, the flag goes right down the toilet!"
"i'm not gonna buy any time for radio free europe. frig that. why not? cause i have nothing to tell europe, man, at all. i'm not gonna moralize with you. if communism cooks for you, solid man. but i'm not gonna try to free anybody. not when the governor of georgia closed the schools. nah, i can't tell them. it's dopey talk already. and people talk about freedom. you know, i can go anywhere in europe tonight. i'd walk in any country, i wouldn't need a visa. but i would shit to walk in mississippi with a sign on my back: "i'm from new york, ha ha ha."
"politician: we have never been, and never will be, a war like nation. we demand russia disarm.
bruce: that's pretty wild."
"i don't get involved with politics as much as mort sahl does, because i know that to be a successful politician, you must be what all politicians have always been: chameleonlike."
"i grew up in new york and i was hip that i was corrupt and the mayor was corrupt. i have no illusions. you believe politicians, what they say? it's a device to get elected. if you were to follow stevenson from new york to alabama, you would shit from the changes. it's like two syndicates man, but morals don't enter into it."
"the south...you know, we pissed away a million dollars on radio free europe and never gave them a nickel."
"bruce: hey man, i was a liberal.
black man: i'm tired of hearing that bullshit, you were a liberal."

"christ and moses would be confused, because their route took them through spanish harlem. and they would wonder what forty puerto ricans were doing living in one room, and cardinal spellman has a ring on that's worth eight grand."

that's my name in jewish, louis schneider.
why haven't you got louis schneider up there on the marquee?
well, cause it's not show business. it doesn't fit.
no, no, i don't wanna hear that. you jewish?
yeah.
you ashamed of it?
why you ashamed you're jewish?
"my defense: i was a soldier. i saw the end of a conscientious day's effort. i saw all of the work that i did. i watched through the portholes. i saw every jew burned and turned into soap. do you people think yourselves better because you burned your enemies at long distance...without ever seeing what you had done to them?"

"it is much safer to celebrate civil liberties than to defend them; it is much safer to defend them as a formal right than to use them in a politically effective way. it is easier still to defend someone else's right to have used them years ago than to have something yourself to say now and to say it now forcibly. the defense of civil liberties, even of their practice a decade ago, has become the major concern of many liberal and once leftward scholars. all of which is a safe way of diverting intellectual effort from the sphere of political reflection and demand."
long live lenny bruce and c. wright mills.

"bruce: hey man, i was a liberal.
black man: i'm tired of hearing that bullshit, you were a liberal."

a couple more things
the olympics. bunch of shit. there was actually a story about whether the usa basketball team should speak out against human rights abuses in china. have these same reporters and media outlets ever thought to ask if these players should speak out against the war in iraq, or police brutality, or the uninsured, or the problems of homelessness and poverty here in america? it would be the height of hypocrisy for an athlete who has never spoken out against the injustices in his homeland, to go to another country and speak out against the injustices there. what a fucking media; instead of asking players to take a stand on china, the media itself should be taking a stand against the crimes being done by their government. the activist must start at home. then, if he wants to speak out against abuses elsewhere, i will be the first one to support him. but, if he doesn't stand up to his government, he has no right to stand up to someone else's. and by the way, fuck usa basketball. i hope they lose every game. go china!
now, about john edwards's affair. hey guys, having an affair is not a crime, ok? it may be wrong, it may speak to a questionable morality on his part, but it is not a crime. it has no place on the news. all this is is an attempt to discredit edwards and eliminate him as a viable vp candidate. that's all this is; the media knew about the affair for a while, and sat on it. right wing dirty tricks. that's it jim. and i am no lover of the democratic party, but that's the deal; think watergate, think the mcgovern vp controversy, think the clinton scandal. but fuck the democrats too; they turn around and attempt to disgrace nader, never mind the hundreds of progressives that were run into the ground during democratic admininstrations. but yeah, that's where it's at. private morality has no place in the public sphere. it's bullshit. he made a mistake, but what does that have to do with any of us? it concerns edwards and his wife and the woman he had the affair with. affordable housing, ending war, shit like that is what needs to be talked about, not who is fucking who. by the way, people will continue to fuck. they have been fucking for a long time, and they won't be stopping any time soon. sorry folks, but that is the case. and, no matter how many times they fuck, and who they fuck, and whether they are married or single when they fuck, and whether they are cheating or not when they fuck, it still ain't news.
bernie mac, dead? what kind of shit is that? how? you never know when your number will be called, which is ok if you are at the bakery, but is a little unnerving when death is the topic. well, he didn't change the history of comedy, but i would prefer that he still be on the planet. crazy.
couldn't it have been cosby instead?

now this
getting tired of that sign that says "apartment for let." it's for rent, not let. what does that mean, that someone will let you live there? yeah, if you are able to come up with the money. it's like when george benson said "give me the night." hey man, it's not mine to give. i can give you a book, or a set of keys, or a get well card, but the night is outside of my giving scope. perhaps he really meant "give me a good fuck tonight." if that's the case, he should have came out and said that. better yet, he should have stuck to playing jazz guitar, but, as you know, no one gets rich playing jazz guitar. i'll grant you he wanted the green, but i dig the early benson. in fact, if you saw him before him 8pm, you were always in for a treat.
there is a documentary called "the night james brown saved boston." it refers to a concert brown gave in boston shortly after king was killed. my question is, if brown saved boston, why is boston still fucked? while he was saving boston, couldn't he have saved rent control and affordable housing? if brown saved boston in 1968, why did we have that racist explosion known as the busing crisis of 1974, and the charles stewart fiasco of the late 80's or early 90's? hell, james brown couldn't even save himself, as proven by his recent demise. heck, (two hell's would have been pushing it) he couldn't even save his singing voice, which seemed to vanish at some point in the mid 60's, at which time he replaced singing with on key shouting. in the film, sharpton points out that brown was different from nat cole and sam cooke. yes, he was. those guys were great singers. supposedly, brown spoke to black militancy in a way those guys didn't. well, al blunton, cole and cooke died in the mid 60's, so how could they be expected to speak to a black militancy that did not yet exist? i for one, would gladly compare the relative power of "a change is gonna come" with "say it loud" at a time and place of the sharp one's choosing. and, speaking of brown, where did this supposed militancy go? where was it when he sang "living in america" in one of the rocky films? cooke always wore his hair naturally; he didn't need a poem from leroi jones to tell him that it looked good. now, i don't mean to shit on brown (pardon the pun) but i hate these black and white tales which elevate certain people at the expense of others whose stories are at least, if not more important. by the way, i have a good name for a shoe store; the godfather of sole.
thinking of the best live jazz i have seen...
jackie mclean twice, once with slide hampton and claudio roditi, the other time with the cedar walton trio.
phil woods
charles mcpherson
david newman and jack mcduff with pinko. if you recall, an anarchist punk referred to it as "good background music."
benny green, also with the pink one
herbie hancock, for a few minutes, as it was pouring rain and i had to split
joe henderson, again only for a few minutes, because i wasn't all there yet as a listener
chick corea with the pink one yet again
tim mayer and bill pierce, two bad local cats
the charles tolliver big band, featuring tenor man billy harper, who played with blakey and lee morgan.
bobby hutcherson, though his vibes didn't carry well out doors.
arturo sandoval, before i realized he was a right wing prick.
pancho sanchez
jaleel shaw, now the alto man in roy haynes's quartet, but then an obscure student at berkley.
dick johnson and sparky miele, a couple of swinging old timers.
scott hamilton, a swinging middle aged tenor man
dave mckenna and gray sargent.
the buena vista social club
eric bogosian and george carlin fit in here somewhere as well, for their genius and creativity.
to lenny and john and zoot and ike and mingus and monk and eric and stan and gene and stitt and criss and lockjaw and wynton and blue and grant and so many others, i am so sorry i am not older and/or you didn't live longer. the latter is closer to the truth.
obama is talking about bombing pakistan again. man...this gets me to thinking. recently, i have been seeing these shirts which show a picture of king and obama side by side, as if obama somehow represents the culmination of the "dream." yeah, if i close my eyes and concentrate hard enough, i can see king at a podium, as he gets tough with pakistan and threatens iran and says that we should send 10000 more troops to afgahnistan and supports the embargo with cuba and supports a militaristic israel and tells black people to stop throwing trash out of their cars. but the man i see isn't martin king, it's king george.
king george, make way for king obama, yet another represenative of the red, white, and blue, and most importantly, of green.
change? man, i don't see a change in sight.

is enola gay?
don't ask, don't tell. wet foot, dry foot. ask those cats down in hiroshima and nagasaki how gay enola is. i bet they weren't too happy. man, the last atomic bomb was a tough one to watch. the crimes of this nation are beyond belief. well, don't worry, obama is here to make everything perfect.
FRANK SINATRA SINGS OF DAYS AND LOVES AGO
SEPTEMBER OF MY YEARS
"TONIGHT WILL NOT SWING. TONIGHT IS FOR SERIOUS.
INSIDE, THE MUSICIANS, LED BY COATLESS, POSTURE FREE GORDON JENKINS, REHEARSE THEIR EMPTY VOICE ARRANGEMENTS. WAITING FOR HIS ARRIVAL.
OUTSIDE, IN THE HALL, THE UNIFORMED GUARDS WAIT AND WONDER WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR HANDS.
UNRULY FIDDLE PLAYERS, WHO LOVE RECORDING LIKE THEY LOVE TRAFFIC JAMS, TONIGHT THEY BRING ALONG THE WIVES, WHO WAIT TO ONE SIDE IN BLACK BEADED SWEATERS.
AND THESE WIVES AND THESE FIDDLE PLAYERS AND ALL OF THESE ARE DIFFERENT TONIGHT. FOR IN A FEW MINUTES A POET WILL BEGIN TO SPEAK OF YEARS AGO.
HE ARRIVES. TIE LOOSENED, COLLAR LOOSENED. THE GUARDS AT THE STUDIO DOOR EDGE OUT OF THE WAY.
GOOD MORNING SIR, HE SAYS. WHO'S GOT THE BALL GAME ON.
THIRTY ORCHESTRA WIVES WISH THEY HAD THE LATE SCORES MEMORIZED. FOUR MEN LOOK AROUND FOR A TRANSISTOR RADIO. BUT NOT LESLIE FEINBERG.
HELLO SIDNEY, HOW ARE YA. WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS?
HE STROLLS UP BEHIND GORDON JENKINS, WHO IS REHEARSING HIS STRINGS. SINATRA LISTENS FOR 32 BARS (AND 6 NIGHTCLUBS) THEN TURNS TO MIKE ROMANOFF, "THE WAY THIS GUY WRITES FOR STRINGS, IF HE WAS JEWISH, HE WOULD BE UNBEARABLE."
THE PRINCE WAKES UP A BIT.
"YOU READY GORDIE?"
I'M READY REPLIES JENKINS "I'M ALWAYS READY, I WAS READY IN 1939."
"I WAS READY WHEN I WAS NINE."
HE WALKS TO HIS MUSIC STAND, CLEARING HIS THROAT. "THINK I SWALLOWED A SHOT GLASS."
JENKINS STARTS A SONG, CONDUCTING WITH ARMS WAIST HIGH, SWEEPING THEM SIDE TO SIDE. NOT LEADING HIS ORCHESTRA: BEING THE ORCHESTRA.
SINATRA BEGINS TO SING HIS SEPTEMBER'S REFLECTIONS. JENKINS ON THE PODIUM TWO FEET ABOVE, TURNS FROM HIS ORCHESTRA TO FACE HIS SINGER. HE BEAMS DOWN ATTENTIVELY, HIS FACE THAT OF A FATHER AFTER HIS SON'S FIRST NO-HITTER.
THE WIVES IN THEIR BLACK BEADED SWEATERS MUFFLE THEIR CHARM BRACELETS.
HE SINGS OF THE PENNY DAYS. OF THE ROSE LIPT GIRLS AND CANDY APPLE TIMES. OF GREEN WINDS, OF A FIRST LASS WHO HAD PERFUMED HAIR. APRIL THOUGHTS.
HE SINGS WITH PERSPECTIVE. THE VITAL MAN, THIS ARCHETYPE OF THE GOOD LIFE, THIS IDOLIZED STAR....THIS MAN PAUSES. HE LOOKS BACK, HE REMEMBERS, AND GRACES HIS MEMORY WITH A POET'S VISION.
HE HAS LIVED ENOUGH FOR TWO LIVES, AND CAN SING NOW OF SEPTEMBER. OF THE BRUISING DAYS. OF THE ROUGED LIPS AND BOURBON TIMES. OF CHILL WINDS, OF FORGOTTEN LADIES WHO RIDE IN LIMOUSINES.
SEPTEMBER CAN BE AN ATTITUDE OR AN AGE OR A WISTFUL REALITY. FOR THIS MAN, IT IS TIME OF LOVE. A TIME TO SING.
A THOUSAND DAYS HATH SEPTEMBER."

what about purgatory
was walking down the street today, when a young girl handed me a card which read "heaven or hell; which one will you choose." Well, if you put it that way, i would suppose heaven.
shouldn't a female latino be a herspanic? speaking of race, i hate it when i have to fill out something where i am required to check off my race. the phrase "white, not hispanic" just doesn't get me off. man, if i could only be hispanic. actually, i think being an alaskan native would really be the shit. of course, being white has its advantages, the main one being that whites aren't as likely to fuck with you. although, in my case, this doesn't seem to apply.
so, from now on, the racial categories should be hispanic, herspanic, yourspanic, and theirspanic. what about the term asian? man, what a vague, meaningless category that is; you got the japanese fighting the chinese fighting the vietnamese fighting the cambodians, and here, according to a bunch of dim white pricks, they are all alike. of course, the whites did it to themselves; the english fighting the irish, everyone hating the jews. but here, they are all white. only, in their case, it works to their benefit.
race is a bitch in this country. in general, the american mind, regardless of race, is so fucked that there is little to no hope. forget about the planet, the people have no hope.
by the way america, grow your own food, if you don't like what you see in the shops. my uncle didn't like the fact that there were signs in korean at the supermarket. funny, but i don't remember him complaining about the yiddish signs of yesterday. meanwhile, my mom's friend doesn't like all the spanish food being sold in her local market, but she doesn't seem to think that we should give back the half of mexico that we took. hey lady, you don't like latino food? don't eat it! better yet, eat it. you might realize that it's pretty damn good.
yeah, these so called liberals; everyone is a fucking progressive. they all mean well.
my uncle also doesn't think black people should get "body art" (isn't that a bullshit term?)because of their dark skin. is manute bol the only black guy this guy has seen? man, bunch of lame shit.
for this they are crossing the border? well, i guess it beats starving and being brutalized by u.s. sponsored death squads.
i guess.
