Clinton: Obama Admin Will Follow Bush Stance on Hamas Boycott

At the State Department Thursday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton repeated the Obama administration commitment to follow the Bush administration policy of boycotting Hamas.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: “I would only add that our conditions respecting Hamas are very clear. We will not, in any way, negotiate with or recognize Hamas until they renounce violence, recognize Israel and agree to abide by, as the Foreign Minister said, the prior agreements entered into by the PLO and the Palestinian Authority."
The US position has been criticized in part because it refuses to impose the same conditions on Israel. Israel refuses to renounce violence, recognize a Palestinian state and abide by agreements, including a pledge to freeze settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank.

forget about imposing the same conditions on israel. what about imposing the same conditions on ourselves? yeah, that's what i'm going to do..."we will not, in any way, negotiate or recognize the u.s government until they renounce violence, recognize the rights of people to self determination and control over their resources, and abide by prior agreements with, among others, the native people, the un, and the u.s constitution." this nonsense from hillary is hypocritical bullshit, and would be described as such by a "free press," if such a thing actually existed in this country. we won't recognize governments until they renounce violence? what government on earth has actually done this? what a world it would be if this were to actually occur, but, of course, it would have to start with the world's leading militarist state putting down their weapons of war. if hillary is really a pacifist, she should resign from her post, and become an anti-war activist.

and while hamas is busy recognizing israel, just who will recognize the palestinian people? when will we recognize iraq and afghanistan and cuba and pakistan and bolivia and venezuela?

until the guys with the bigger weapons renounce violence, such calls are utter hypocrisy. you can't give a country 3 billion in military aid, prosecute two wars at once, and drop bombs on pakistan, and then ask various embattled opponents of these crimes to behave in a peaceful manner.
