economic crisis?

tell that to the u.s military. the new embassy in iraq was just completed, to the tune of 700 million dollars. is that what they mean by "support our troops?" close to 3/4th's of a billion dollars to house people who have no business living in iraq, while millions are homeless right here in our own nation. what kind of an economic crisis is it when that much money exists to create an embassy? and by the way, if an embassy is going to cost that much, don't you think that means that we ain't leaving iraq any time soon? that sounds like a structure that will be used for quite a while, by quite a few people. of course, we couldn't use 700 million dollars to help people here. you know, that money could build some libraries, or parks, or create jobs. quite a few houses could be constructed with that money. but no, there are embassies that need building, and wars that need fighting.

there may be a crisis, but it isn't just an economic one. we are suffering a moral crisis. and it looks as if it won't be ending for a long while.
