a couple more things

the olympics. bunch of shit. there was actually a story about whether the usa basketball team should speak out against human rights abuses in china. have these same reporters and media outlets ever thought to ask if these players should speak out against the war in iraq, or police brutality, or the uninsured, or the problems of homelessness and poverty here in america? it would be the height of hypocrisy for an athlete who has never spoken out against the injustices in his homeland, to go to another country and speak out against the injustices there. what a fucking media; instead of asking players to take a stand on china, the media itself should be taking a stand against the crimes being done by their government. the activist must start at home. then, if he wants to speak out against abuses elsewhere, i will be the first one to support him. but, if he doesn't stand up to his government, he has no right to stand up to someone else's. and by the way, fuck usa basketball. i hope they lose every game. go china!

now, about john edwards's affair. hey guys, having an affair is not a crime, ok? it may be wrong, it may speak to a questionable morality on his part, but it is not a crime. it has no place on the news. all this is is an attempt to discredit edwards and eliminate him as a viable vp candidate. that's all this is; the media knew about the affair for a while, and sat on it. right wing dirty tricks. that's it jim. and i am no lover of the democratic party, but that's the deal; think watergate, think the mcgovern vp controversy, think the clinton scandal. but fuck the democrats too; they turn around and attempt to disgrace nader, never mind the hundreds of progressives that were run into the ground during democratic admininstrations. but yeah, that's where it's at. private morality has no place in the public sphere. it's bullshit. he made a mistake, but what does that have to do with any of us? it concerns edwards and his wife and the woman he had the affair with. affordable housing, ending war, shit like that is what needs to be talked about, not who is fucking who. by the way, people will continue to fuck. they have been fucking for a long time, and they won't be stopping any time soon. sorry folks, but that is the case. and, no matter how many times they fuck, and who they fuck, and whether they are married or single when they fuck, and whether they are cheating or not when they fuck, it still ain't news.

bernie mac, dead? what kind of shit is that? how? you never know when your number will be called, which is ok if you are at the bakery, but is a little unnerving when death is the topic. well, he didn't change the history of comedy, but i would prefer that he still be on the planet. crazy.

couldn't it have been cosby instead?
